Tuchel's debut season in shambles: Bayern ousted from Cup with 94th-minute goal

The German Cup quarter-finals saw a stunning result as Freiburg beat Bayern Munich with a 94th-minute goal to win 2-1.

Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern seemed to have a clear path to victory when Upamencano scored in the 19th minute. But in just eight minutes, Hofler equalized the score with a strike against Zomer.

Both teams then went into a period of calm, with Bayern possessing the ball, but not doing enough to challenge Freiburg’s defense.

Just as the game appeared headed to extra time, Musial handled the ball, and the referee awarded a penalty. Höller scored, and Bayern’s hopes of winning the cup vanished.

Tuchel will be reeling from this slap in the face, as his team was knocked out of the cup with a crushing last-minute defeat.
