Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri announced today that in Sunday’s Serie A derby against Milan, he will be able to count on Serbian striker Dušan Vlahovic, and perhaps on Federico Chiesa.
“Vlahovic trained all this week and is fine. I don’t know yet if it will start. If the match starts, he won’t play the whole game, that’s for sure, he doesn’t have 90 minutes in his legs. It is possible that he will enter during the match, I will make a decision after today’s training”, said Allegri at the press conference.
Vlahovic missed Juventus’ last two games due to back pain, as well as Serbia’s matches in the European Championship qualifiers.
The 23-year-old Serbian striker has scored four goals in six league appearances this season.
“As far as Chiesa is concerned, he did half of the training on Friday. We will decide today whether he will play”, added Allegri.
Chiesa missed the last match of Juventus, and due to a thigh muscle problem, he did not play for the Italian national team in the EURO qualifiers.
“We hope that he will be available, because he is an important player, and we are playing an important match,” Allegri said.
Allegri, speaking about the duel against Milan, rejected the idea that that match could be a turning point in the fight for the title.
“It will be a great match, also a difficult one… There are four teams that can aim for the title, Milan, Inter, Juventus, and Napoli.” It is important for us to be in the top four in May,” said Allegri.
Juventus welcomes this game as third in the table with 17 points, while Milan is first with 21.
The derby match of the ninth round of Serie A is scheduled for tomorrow in Milan from 20:45.
