Parma have dismissed manager Fabio Pecchia, the Serie A team announced on Monday, following a fourth successive defeat that has left the newly promoted side in the relegation zone.

Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat to AS Roma extended Parma’s winless streak to seven matches, dropping them to 18th in the league table with only four victories out of their 25 matches this season. Pecchia, who assumed leadership in 2022 when Parma were in Serie B, guided the club to win the second tier championship last season, achieving automatic promotion to Italy’s top division after initially falling short in the promotion playoffs during his first year.
Although Parma extended Pecchia’s contract until 2027 in October, their slide into the bottom three has resulted in an early termination of his tenure. Parma are set to face Bologna on Sunday.
