Napoli are reportedly considering a summer move for Sandro Tonali as Antonio Conte’s side begin planning for next season, with the Newcastle United midfielder emerging as an ambitious target if there are major changes in the middle of the park. Italian reporting on Wednesday linked Tonali with Napoli, while also noting Juventus’ interest.
According to the reports, much will depend on possible exits from Napoli’s current midfield. Frank Anguissa remains a player the club would like to keep, while Stanislav Lobotka could attract attention if a significant offer arrives. Tonali is being viewed as a potential high-level addition should Napoli be forced into a summer rebuild in that department.
Any deal, however, would be far from straightforward. Tonali is under a long-term contract at Newcastle, and recent comments from his agent Giuseppe Riso have suggested that, if a major move does happen in the future, it could still be within the Premier League. Riso recently said that attracting interest from clubs such as Manchester City and Arsenal had always been part of the broader objective after Tonali’s move to England.
That means Napoli would likely face serious competition if they decide to turn their interest into something concrete. Juventus have also been linked, while English clubs are expected to remain in the conversation around one of Italy’s most highly rated midfielders.

The same reports also mention Napoli’s interest in Riccardo Calafiori, should the defender’s situation at Arsenal change, showing that the club are already scanning the Premier League market for possible opportunities ahead of the next transfer window.
For now, Tonali to Napoli remains a market idea rather than an advanced negotiation. But it is the kind of name that shows the level of ambition Conte and Napoli could be aiming for if the squad is reshaped in the summer.
