Motta praises Juventus after win

Juventus manager Thiago Motta praised his team’s unwavering performance following a 2-0 triumph against AC Milan in Serie A on Saturday. Motta expressed that the victory was a just reward for the diligent efforts of his players.

Remaining unbeaten, Juventus climbed into the top four of Serie A thanks to second-half goals from Samuel Mbangula and Timothy Weah, securing all three points.

Speaking to DAZN, Motta stated, “Today, we displayed an exceptional performance. Such victories are the result of the daily grind put in by these individuals, whom I extend my gratitude to. They continue to improve through their unwavering commitment, triumphing over numerous challenges. These victories serve as fitting recognition.”

Although Juve has maintained an unbeaten record in domestic competitions, they had drawn seven of their previous eight league matches, including the last three.

“In our last encounter with Atalanta, we made some technical errors that boosted our opponents’ confidence,” Motta explained.

“Today, the opposing team recognized that they were up against a team with a formidable defensive strategy. We played an intense and high-quality game, demonstrating our superiority.”

Juventus dominated possession and had superior scoring opportunities while Milan failed to find the back of the net, marking only the second time in their last 30 away games in Serie A that they were unable to score, with both instances occurring against Juventus.

“We aimed to play aggressively, denying Milan the opportunity to settle into their rhythm and disrupting the composure of their goalkeeper, who is known for his logical thinking and ability to find open teammates,” Motta commented.

“The team performed admirably with great energy, and I am delighted with the outcome,” he added.

The coach commended young player Mbangula, who opened the scoring.

“Beyond his goal today, he is a valuable asset to the team. He has been consistently dedicated to his work, never missing a game due to injury or suspension. Whenever he has played, he has made significant contributions to the team,” Motta stated.
