Cooking started: Napoli called Conte to replace Garcia

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis said recently that the position of coach Rudi Garcia is not secure. The controversial film producer decided to do something about it. As many Italian media are buzzing, Napoli has already contacted Antonio Conte to replace the Frenchman, who was suspected from the start to bring success to the south of Italy.

The marriage between Garcia and Napoli has turned out to be a bad match from the start and it is now up to De Laurentiis to find a model to part ways with a coach who has a contract until 2025 and find a new one.

However, it won’t be that easy. At least when it comes to Conte. The fact that the champion of Italy is called one of the best coaches there does not necessarily mean that the job will come.

There are many hurdles that De Laurentiis must overcome to attract perhaps the best replacement for the brilliant Spalletti to the hot bench.

What is certain is that Conte has no intention of accepting a new job so easily and forgoing rest.

“I heard rumors linking me with an important club. What I can confirm is that right now all I want to do is spend and enjoy time with my family,” wrote the former coach of Juventus, Inter, Tottenham, and Chelsea.

The question is whether Conte is currently “hard market” or is he ready to reject Napoli and wait for a more favorable offer to return to coaching.

What is certain is that De Laurentiis has two more options for a new coach. One is Christophe Galtier, while the other is Igor Tudor. Not necessarily in that order, as the Croatian is reportedly ahead of another Frenchman who did not make a name for himself during his time on the bench at Paris Saint-Germain and is close to signing for Al Duhail of Qatar.
