RB Leipzig has reportedly communicated to Liverpool their interest in retaining playmaker Fabio Carvalho on loan for the rest of the season. Carvalho, loaned to Leipzig for the 2023-24 campaign, has faced limited playing time, with just two starts and 10 substitute appearances in various competitions.
Despite rumors of Liverpool’s dissatisfaction with Carvalho’s loan spell and their intention to recall him in January, Leipzig, under manager Marco Rose, has reached out to Liverpool, emphasizing Carvalho’s importance to their squad. The Bundesliga club is eager to provide the 21-year-old with more opportunities to contribute.

However, Liverpool, led by Jurgen Klopp, seems undeterred in their decision to activate a recall clause in January. Carvalho’s limited game time contrasts with Liverpool’s initial expectation that he would become a regular starter.
With Carvalho holding a contract until 2027, Liverpool is likely to choose a destination where he can secure regular playing time. Several clubs from the Premier League and major European leagues are expected to express interest in Carvalho’s services.
