The Gunners fired at the transfer market - Arsenal sent an offer for Ajax' stopper

Arsenal sent an offer for Ajax stopper Jurrien Timber, according to British media.

Mikel Arteta’s team exceeded all expectations last season and were contenders for the Premier League title until the very end.

Judging by the fire the Gunners have unleashed on the transfer market this month, they won’t settle for second place.

The club from North London is already haggling with West Ham over the price of Declan Rice, it is heavily involved in negotiations with Chelsea over the transfer of Kai Havertz, and now reliable “Atletic” brings the news that the first offer has been sent to Ajax, for the Dutch stopper Jurrien Timber.

Timber arrived in Amsterdam two years ago and immediately received all the applause at the Johan Cruyff Arena. Manchester United tried to bring him last summer, but Ajax was not ready to give up the defender.

Now he is ready to do so, but not at the price the Gunners have estimated. Namely, Arsenal offered around 35 million euros, which will not be enough to satisfy the appetite of the Dutch giant. Ajax will ask for around 60,000,000 euros for Timber, which is the figure that the “Red Devils” were ready to offer last summer.

Timber is a player who, above all, is decorated with great footwork, calmness in passing and good dribbling. He is also capable of playing at right-back, so Arsenal would kill two birds with one stone.
