Postecoglou: We navigated a challenging phase, and I'm optimistic that things will improve.

Tottenham coach, Angelos Postecoglou, praised his team after breaking a poor streak and securing a victory against Newcastle. Tottenham convincingly won 4-1, and he told BBC, “I think today our performance was excellent on all levels. We looked very good and were decisive in the final third of the pitch. We created many chances and managed to minimize the opponent’s opportunities, and the guys were rewarded for it.”

Richarlison performed exceptionally well, scoring two goals, delighting the coach. Postecoglou said, “Richarlison has been crucial for us from the beginning of the year, but back then, he wasn’t fully ready. Now he’s back, played 70 minutes. I think he was very good today, finishing the job and also working hard and well for the team. A very good match.”

Postecoglou also praised Son, who recorded two assists and scored a goal, saying, “Heung-Min was crucial at the start of the match. What he did gave us opportunities for other guys to score goals. That’s what you expect from the team leader.”

In concluding his statements, Angelos addressed the previous period and the club’s crisis, stating, “It doesn’t take rocket science to tell you that we were in trouble when we lost several key players. It wasn’t easy for us, and I wasn’t tough on the guys, but I also didn’t allow them to seek excuses and compromises. However, today I might have been a little tougher because Newcastle is a team that, regarding injuries, is in the same predicament as us. That’s how it is in this league; you lose one or two players, and you can easily stumble. We’ve been through a tough period, and I hope it will get better; hopefully, we’ve crossed to the other side.”
