Chelsea football player Cole Palmer was rewarded today with an invitation to the England A national team, a day after he scored a point from the penalty spot for his team against Manchester City in the Premier League.
Palmer has been called up for England’s upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia after James Maddison, Callum Wilson and Lewis Dunk were ruled out through injury.
City and Aston Villa defenders Rico Lewis and Ezri Konsa have also been called up.
Palmer has been in impressive form since arriving at Chelsea from City for around $52 million this summer. He scored four goals in 11 appearances, the last one yesterday against his former club in the 95th minute from the penalty spot for the final 4:4.
England has already qualified for the European Championship. Gareth Southgate’s team plays against Malta on Friday, and against North Macedonia the following Monday.
