Ozil ended his career at the age of 34 and ended his agony

According to Turkish media, the famous German football player Mesut Ozil has decided to end his career.

An official confirmation of the termination of the contract with Basaksehir and retirement from sports is expected during the day.

Ozil arrived in Basaksehir in July of last year, however, he failed to revive his career and played only 142 minutes this season.

On Friday, Ozil did not appear in training, and the 45 minutes on Thursday will probably be the last of his career.

Ozil started his senior career in Schalke’s second team, followed by a move to the first team. After two seasons, in 2008 Ozil moved to Werder Bremen, and in 2010 to Real Madrid, for which he played 105 games.

He was at Arsenal the longest, from 2013 to 2021, and he played 184 matches for the Gunners.

He did not part with Arsenal in great love, he arrived in Fenerbahçe in 2021, from where he moved to Basaksehir last summer.

He played for the younger selections of the German national team, and for the senior team he made 92 appearances, he was third at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and became the world champion with Germany in 2014 in Brazil.
