Portuguese coach Luis Castro is the new coach of last year’s vice-champion of the Saudi Pro League, the Al Nasr team, this club announced.
The Portuguese arrives in Saudi Arabia after an episode in the Brazilian championship where he led the Botafogo team from the bench.
Although he had a contract for two more years, he could not refuse the invitation of the club for which his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo plays.
Castro is known to the public from the Middle East because before signing the contract with Botafogo, he spent the 2021/22 season in Qatar’s Al Duhail, with whom he won the Qatar Cup that season.
During his career, he led numerous clubs in Portugal and Europe, among which Shakhtar from Donetsk and Porto stand out.
