Ruben Neves Shuts Down Newcastle Move, Commits to Al Hilal

Ruben Neves has firmly rejected the notion of a potential transfer to Newcastle, expressing his desire to continue with the Saudi club Al Hilal.

The 26-year-old midfielder, acquired for a substantial £47 million in the summer from Wolves, had been the subject of strong speculation regarding a loan move to Newcastle, a club also under the ownership of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

When questioned about the possibility, Neves emphatically stated to BBC Sport, “I don’t go.” Dismissing the transfer rumors, he attributed the speculation to the shared ownership and his previous experience playing in England.

“I think that’s rumours because of the owner of the clubs of course, and because I’ve played in England as well,” he added.

Neves clarified, “There was Newcastle interest before I came here, but I’m really happy here, my family’s really happy, so I’m having a great time.” His commitment to Al Hilal signals a content and satisfied outlook for the Portuguese midfielder.
