Valletta beat Gzira United in the extra time to advance

Valletta took the lead in the last eight minutes of the Meridianbet Fa Trophy after defeating Gżira United with a score of 1-0.

In the fourth minute, Gzira had a chance after a cross from Kevin Tulimieri towards the box where Thaylor Aldama found the ball with a header that hit the post. In the 25th minute, a dangerous play from Gżira resulted in a red card for Kevin Tulimieri after it appeared that he deliberately kicked Sheldon Mackay. In the 30th minute, a shot from Jefferson Ferreira from inside the box went just over the bar.

In the 61st minute, a shot from outside the box by Brandon Paiber went high. In the 78th minute, Gżira had a good opportunity when Aldama received the ball in the box and with a shot towards the goal, but it was deflected by the goalkeeper and cleared outside the box. In the 83rd minute, a shot from Brooklyn Borg outside the box was caught by the goalkeeper Aquilina without any problems.

In the 102nd minute, Valletta took the lead after a cross from Brandon Paiber was headed in by James Scicluna for a 1-0 lead against Formosa. In the 105th minute, a free kick from James Scicluna went just wide.
