Massimiliano Allegri poised to join Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia

Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly on the verge of becoming the head coach of Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli. According to sources, Allegri recently met with representatives from Al-Ahli in Milan and has requested time to consider the offer. The agreement is anticipated to be finalized, with Allegri expected to assume the managerial role in June, ahead of the next season.

This potential move would mark Allegri’s first managerial experience outside of Italy. Throughout his career, he has managed several Italian clubs, most notably leading Juventus to multiple Serie A titles. Al-Ahli, aiming to strengthen their squad, currently features former Serie A players such as Frank Kessié and Merih Demiral. In the interim, the club is considering appointing Gabriele Cioffi to replace Matthias Jaissle and guide the team through the remainder of the current season.

The Saudi Pro League has been actively attracting high-profile football figures, both players and managers, as part of its strategy to enhance the league’s competitiveness and global appeal. Allegri’s potential appointment aligns with this broader initiative to bring experienced European football professionals to the Middle East.
