Manchester United played another very weak game in the English Premier League.
The “Red Devils” are not doing well in big derbies at home. Just a few weeks ago, Liverpool was fatal, and now it’s the turn of the duel with the city rival, which did not go very well for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.
The two teams met on the big jubilee. Namely, on this day back in 1986, Sir Alex Ferguson came to “Old Trafford”, and the rest is history…
Manchester United hosted Manchester City and the result at the end of the game was 0: 2 (0: 2).
Goals for the guests were scored by Bailly the 7th minute (own goal) and Bernardo Silva in the 45th minute.
It could have been guessed at the very beginning of the match, in the 7th minute, that the team from “Old Trafford” will have nasty problems with the “citizens”.
Manchester United somehow managed to repel City’s attack, and then, after one harmless cross, Bailly put the ball into his own net with the intention of shooting it.
Pep Guardiola’s team did not want to be satisfied with a minimal lead, so they took the total field initiative.
That paid off at the end of the first part of the game, when the Manchester United defense once again showed all its weaknesses.
The ball circled unhindered around the home team’s penalty area, and then after Jo Can Cancel’s cross, the ball went through the complete defense of the rival, and the reaction of Luc Shaw was especially inexplicable.
The England national team player silently watched as the ball passed by him and came to Bernardo Silva who literally pushed it into the goal net guarded by David De Gea.
In the second half, Manchester City lowered the gas well, which resulted in United avoiding a real catastrophe.
That the “red devils” were not close to seriously threatening the rival is best shown by the fact that they had only five shots on goal, of which only one was within the goal frame guarded by Ederson.
On the other hand, City was in a much better mood, which shows the final result.
