The Malta Football Association announced the achievement of an important milestone in enhancing matchday operations with the introduction of a regional ambulance service.
Launched last Saturday, the service features three fully equipped ambulances stationed strategically across Malta. This setup ensures comprehensive coverage of all venues and enables prompt medical assistance in the event of an emergency during matches organised by the MFA and its member associations.
The three ambulances are being deployed at designated locations, one in the north, one in the west/central, and one in the south of Malta. The agreement with its service provider – Global Medical, stipulates that each regional ambulance will have a direct mobile number to enable faster response times. Moreover, protocols and guidelines will be distributed to all stakeholders, including staff, clubs, member associations, venue managers, and paramedics to ensure consistency and preparedness.
The MFA said that it remained committed to continuously upgrade its emergency medical response services in collaboration with all stakeholders, and welcomes any suggestions or recommendations that may further enhance the welfare of players, officials, and spectators.
