Liverpool celebrated against Chelsea in London in the League Cup final, which took place at the legendary Wembley, and the match lasted an incredible almost three hours.
There were no goals or winners in the regular part of the match. The teams played another 30 minutes, but even then neither team managed to score a goal.
The decision on the winner of the trophy fell in the penalty series. And what kind.
Namely, the match was resolved only in the 11th series, after both teams scored 10 penalties. The goalkeepers came on the scene, Kelleher from Liverpool scored a goal, while Kepa, the Chelsea goalkeeper, missed the whole goal.
It is interesting that Chelsea coach Tuchel just threw Kepa in the last minute of the match so that he would be the one to bring the title to the “Blues”.
