During the summer transfer window, Polish footballer Robert Lewandowski managed to leave Bayern Munich in order to strengthen the ranks of the Catalan club.
The club from Munich tried in every way to keep the Polish striker, however, Lewandowski insisted that his time in Munich is over and that he has no plans to stay at the Bundesliga club.
In the end, he succeeded in this intention, so a year before the contract expired, he received a letter and signed for Barcelona.
“I know that my departure has affected many fans, I can understand that, and I want to apologize once again. It was important and necessary for me to understand that I am ready for changes. In the end, we are all human. After 12 years in Germany, it became clear to me that my time was up. It was a difficult situation for all parties and we had to find the best solution,” said Lewandowski.
“I needed a change, a move to another country, to another club. Now I feel like a child with a new toy.”
He signed a contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2026, and last weekend he scored a goal with two assists in a 6:0 win against Pumas.
