Real Madrid’s coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his frustration regarding the referee decisions during their recent 1-1 match against Osasuna, extending their winless streak in LaLiga to three games.
The manager criticised the VAR for not stepping in for potential penalties involving Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, and a handball by Alejandro Catena. Ancelotti was already upset after Bellingham received a red card in the first half, and his displeasure continued when Osasuna was granted a penalty following VAR intervention for Camavinga’s challenge on Budimir. Despite Mbappe’s goal, Budimir equalised from the spot. Ancelotti conveyed his disappointment and refrained from elaborating further, eager to focus on the upcoming game.

The referee cautioned me upon my observation of a handball in Osasuna’s penalty area and my suggestion to review it on the VAR system. The VAR seemed to have been activated later on.
Ancelotti raised objections regarding Bellingham’s red card in the 39th minute, disputing that the English midfielder did not verbally abuse the referee amidst the multiple disagreements Real Madrid players had with the match official.

Ancelotti’s exasperation further intensifies Real’s confrontations with refereeing, following the club’s prior complaints against the Spanish league’s officials in February.
Real secured a point to maintain their lead in LaLiga, amidst a fiercely contested title race. Ancelotti’s team currently holds 51 points, one ahead of Atletico Madrid in second place and three points clear of Barcelona in third place, who have a pending match.
