Joao Felix on the move? Manchester United and Arsenal among clubs interested in Atletico Madrid forward

According to recent reports, both Manchester United and Arsenal have shown interest in signing Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix during the January transfer window.

The Portuguese international is said to be keen on a move away from Atletico’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium, having struggled to make an impact during the 2022-23 campaign. In 19 appearances for Atletico this season, Felix has managed to score just five goals and provide three assists.

Atletico head coach Diego Simeone has publicly stated that he has a good working relationship with Felix, but has also made it clear that no player at the club is “indispensable.” This has led to speculation that Felix could leave the club during the winter market, with a loan move being the most likely scenario. Atletico is reportedly asking for a £19m package for Felix, including a loan fee and his wages, but it is unclear if either Manchester United or Arsenal are willing to meet these demands.

Chelsea have also been rumored to be interested in signing Felix, but are said to be more interested in bringing in a natural center-forward. Felix joined Atletico from Benfica in July 2019 and has made 130 appearances for the club, scoring 34 goals and providing 18 assists in all competitions. Despite his struggles at Atletico this season, Felix’s performances for the Portuguese national team during the 2022 World Cup have caught the attention of several clubs.
