Newly appointed Jamaica head coach Steve McClaren expressed his immense pride and excitement in assuming the position of head coach for the Jamaica Men’s National Team. Despite the unexpected nature of the opportunity, he eagerly accepted a role that he believes suits him perfectly.

The Reggae Boyz have been manager-less since Heimir Hallgrimsson departed earlier this month following a disappointing Copa America. The Jamaica Football Federation has been evaluating potential candidates, with individuals such as Steve Bruce and Dwight Yorke being linked to the position in recent weeks. However, former England manager McClaren, who last held a managerial position at QPR five years ago, will now relinquish his coaching role at Manchester United to lead Jamaica’s journey towards the 2026 World Cup.

This global tournament will be hosted jointly by the US, Canada, and Mexico.
