Paulo Dybala, the Argentine forward currently with AS Roma, is attracting significant interest from Galatasaray, the Turkish Super League leaders. Reports indicate that Galatasaray has extended a lucrative offer to Dybala, proposing a salary close to €10 million net per season.
Dybala’s current contract with Roma is set to expire in June 2025. However, if he participates in a few more matches as a starter, an automatic renewal clause will extend his contract by an additional year, increasing his salary to €8 million net plus €2 million in bonuses. This would make him one of the highest-paid players in Serie A.
Galatasaray’s interest has been underscored by the recent visit of Dybala’s agent, Carlos Novel, to Istanbul. Novel attended Galatasaray’s match against Trabzonspor, accompanied by intermediary George Gardi, signaling active negotiations.
Despite the enticing offer from Galatasaray, Dybala has previously declined more lucrative proposals, including one from Saudi Arabia, expressing a preference to remain with Roma until the season’s end. However, Roma’s current struggles in Serie A, where they sit 12th on the table, may influence his decision. Additionally, starting January 1, a €12 million release clause in Dybala’s contract becomes active, potentially facilitating a transfer if a club is willing to meet the fee.
Roma’s head coach, Claudio Ranieri, has emphasized Dybala’s importance to the team, especially as they aim to recover from a challenging season. The club’s management faces a critical decision: retain their star player to aid in their Serie A campaign or negotiate a transfer that could alleviate financial pressures.
Galatasaray, known for assembling high-profile squads, envisions Dybala joining an attack featuring Dries Mertens and Victor Osimhen. The Turkish club is expected to persist in its pursuit of Dybala, exploring all avenues to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
