Injury Crisis at Liverpool: Klopp Loses Key Players Following Derby Clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker and forward Diogo Jota sustained injuries during their recent match against Manchester City and will be sidelined for several upcoming games, starting with their Europa League fixture against LASK.

Both Alisson and Jota incurred injuries in Saturday’s clash with Manchester City. Jota was forced to leave the field after 54 minutes, while Alisson completed the match despite a tendon issue.

“Both are out. Alisson is a bit better, but we will have to see. He will not play tomorrow, nor on Sunday, probably not next week either. Then things should be better,” Klopp stated.

Regarding Jota, Klopp noted, “It will take a little more time. We don’t know exactly how long, but it’s a bit more serious.”

Liverpool will host LASK in the Europa League Group E match tomorrow, where they currently lead the group with nine points. Following this, they face Fulham, Sheffield, and Crystal Palace in the Premier League, where they are currently third in the standings with 28 points, one behind Manchester City and two behind league leaders Arsenal.
