The GFA BOV Gozo Football League 2nd Division delivered another thrilling round of matches at the Kercem Stadium, with late goals, red cards, and dramatic comebacks shaping the outcomes of Matchday 9 and 10.

Munxar Falcons FC 3-3 Zebbug Rovers FC (Matchday 9 – February 1, 2025)

Munxar Falcons staged a stunning late comeback to salvage a point against Zebbug Rovers in a pulsating six-goal thriller.

Zebbug Rovers seemed to have sealed the victory early on, racing to a 3-0 lead by the 68th minute with goals from Marco Ciangura (15’), Harry Paulin (25’), and Josef Buttigieg (68’). However, the match took a dramatic turn in the final minutes.

Chris Ronaldo Bohui ignited Munxar’s fightback with a goal in the 84th minute, and just a minute later, Zebbug’s Buttigieg received a red card, reducing his side to 10 men. Munxar took full advantage as Neil Mifsud (86’) cut the deficit to one before Daniel Azzopardi netted the dramatic equalizer in the 94th minute, securing a crucial point for the Falcons.

Sannat Lions FC 3-2 Gharb Rangers FC (Matchday 10 – February 1, 2025)

Sannat Lions pulled off an incredible turnaround despite going down to 10 men early in the match, claiming a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Gharb Rangers.

The Lions were dealt an early setback when Carl Gauci was sent off in the 12th minute. Gharb took full advantage, with Baldwin Osayi Igbinobaro scoring twice (42’ penalty, 49’), putting his side in a commanding 2-0 lead.

However, Sannat refused to surrender. Aud-Gustine James Obaje struck back immediately (50’), before an own goal by David Galea (63’) leveled the score at 2-2. The dramatic winner came in the 67th minute when Obaje found the net again, completing a remarkable comeback and sealing all three points for Sannat.
