Italian giants Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement on a new five-year contract with Brazilian center-back Gleison Bremer. Since joining from Torino in 2022, Bremer has been a consistent presence in the Bianconeri’s defense, making 60 appearances for the club in the past year and a half.
The 26-year-old has notched up six goals and one assist across all competitions, justifying his €41 million (£35.6 million) price tag with standout performances in the ongoing campaign. Having started all of Juventus’ 17 Serie A games in the 2023-24 season, Bremer has played a crucial role in keeping nine clean sheets and contributing a goal in a 2-1 victory over Cagliari in November.
Although Bremer’s existing contract is valid until the summer of 2027, Juventus is keen to reward his contributions with an improved deal. Reports from November suggested that negotiations were on the verge of completion, with the player’s entourage close to agreeing on the renewal, fending off potential interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano now reports that Bremer has given the green light to a new five-year contract, extending until the summer of 2028, and the renewal will include the expected salary increase. An official announcement is anticipated in the coming days as Juventus secures the long-term future of a vital component in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.
In the past six months, Juventus has successfully extended contracts with key players, including Fabio Miretti, Kenan Yildiz, Nicolo Fagioli, Federico Gatti, and Manuel Locatelli. The club has been proactive in securing the services of its core players, reflecting its commitment to continuity and success.
As Juventus sits second in the Serie A table, trailing leaders Inter Milan by four points, the upcoming fixtures, starting with Roma on Saturday evening at the Allianz Stadium, will be crucial for Allegri’s side.
