German football representative Leroy Sane will miss the match against Japan at the World Cup due to a knee injury, the German Football Association announced today.
Sane missed today’s training session, the last one before the first-round match of Group E with Japan, which will be played on Wednesday at 14:00.
The German Football Association did not say what kind of injury it was.
Sane arrived in Qatar in good form, having scored 10 goals and had six assists in 19 games in all competitions for Bayern Munich.
All other players in coach Hansi Flick’s team trained normally today and are in competition for tomorrow’s game.
