FIFA unveils eight dazzling host cities for historic 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil

FIFA has officially announced the eight Host Cities for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™, marking a historic first for South America as it prepares to welcome the world to a tournament set to redefine women’s football.

Revealed by FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a celebration broadcast across FIFA channels, the announcement featured prominent Brazilian figures from each of the selected states. The chosen cities showcase Brazil’s cultural and geographical diversity and include:

  • Belo Horizonte (Estádio Mineirão)
  • Brasília (Estádio Nacional)
  • Fortaleza (Arena Castelão)
  • Porto Alegre (Estádio Beira-Rio)
  • Recife (Arena de Pernambuco)
  • Rio de Janeiro (Estádio do Maracanã)
  • Salvador (Arena Fonte Nova)
  • São Paulo (Arena Itaquera)

“From samba to frevo, from stunning beaches to cosmopolitan cities, the world will experience the energy, colour and warmth that only Brazil can offer,” said Infantino. “We will work closely with the selected cities to create unforgettable moments in each of their stadiums in 2027 and ensure this tournament leaves a positive and lasting legacy.”

The rigorous host city selection process began in August 2024, involving site inspections and assessments by FIFA’s technical teams. Of the 12 cities under consideration, eight were ultimately chosen based on infrastructure quality, operational capacity, and the potential to support the long-term development of women’s football. Cities not selected—Belém, Cuiabá, Manaus, and Natal—were thanked for their strong bids and passion, with FIFA committing to finding ways to involve them in the tournament’s broader programming.

Each Host City will now enter the operational planning phase alongside FIFA, kicking off preparations to deliver an event that promises to captivate global audiences and further elevate women’s football. Celebrations are already underway in the selected cities, with communities expressing pride at being part of this landmark tournament.

Upcoming milestones include the release of the official match schedule and the brand launch, both of which will fuel the growing excitement as Brazil prepares to make history in 2027.
