Spanish footballer Ferran Torres has been officially introduced as a new player for Barcelona, but the Catalans have a problem.
Barcelona is still not able to register players due to exceeding the salary limit.
Barcelona director Mateu Alemany said at the conference during the presentation of reinforcements that the club knew that there was no place for Torres, in terms of salary, when he brought him from Manchester City last week for 55,000,000 euros.
- We are convinced that we will be able to register it – said Alemany.
During the promotion, Torres acted carefree and stated that he is calm, because the club is doing everything in their power.
- When I left Manchester City, I had the idea to return to Primera and Barcelona showed interest. I am ambitious and love challenges. I want to bring Barca back to where it belongs – said Torres.
Due to a foot injury, the young footballer has not played since October, but should be available for the match against Real Madrid in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup on January 12.
He signed a contract with Barcelona until the middle of 2027, and the buyout clause amounts to one billion euros.
Ferran Torres has scored 16 goals in 43 games in all competitions for City.
