Danish footballer and Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen could miss most of the rest of the season with an ankle injury, the club announced.
Eriksen was injured during the FA Cup match against Reading on Saturday.
United announced that Eriksen will be sidelined for an extended period, most likely until the end of April or the beginning of May.
“There is hope that Christian will be able to play and take an important role in the team in the last phase of the season” the statement of the club from Manchester states.
The former Tottenham and Inter Milan player suffered a heart attack during a match at the 2021 European Championship and had to be resuscitated with a defibrillator.
He returned to football last year when he signed for the English Brentford, and this summer he moved to Manchester United, for which he made 31 appearances.
