Palace stunned by Grealish’s 93rd-minute winner

Jack Grealish scored a last-minute goal to help Everton beat Crystal Palace 2-1, ending Palace’s club-record 19-game unbeaten run in all competitions. The result also means Palace haven’t won any of their last 11 away league games against Everton.

Fans at Hill Dickinson Stadium saw a lively start, with both teams having early chances. Jordan Pickford saved well from Yéremy Pino, while Dean Henderson stopped a powerful shot from Grealish.

Palace looked strong going forward, with Tyrick Mitchell hitting the post. Eventually, they took the lead in the 37th minute. Daniel Muñoz scored from close range after a neat pass from Ismaïla Sarr.

Palace nearly made it 2-0 just before the hour mark, but Jean-Philippe Mateta’s chip was cleared off the line. Soon after, he missed another great chance, pulling his shot wide.

Everton got back into the game when they were awarded a penalty after Tim Iroegbunam was fouled. Iliman Ndiaye calmly scored from the spot – his third goal of the season, making it 1-1 with 15 minutes left.

Just when the match looked like ending in a draw, Jack Grealish scored in the 93rd minute. After Henderson had saved a shot from Beto, Muñoz tried to clear the ball, but Grealish blocked it, and it bounced into the net.

This was Everton’s first win since August. They now move up to 7th place, only one point behind 5th-placed Palace, who lost for the first time since mid-April.
