Bournemouth beat Spurs in tight encounter

Dean Huijsen scored the only goal as Bournemouth beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium, moving ahead of them in the Premier League standings.

Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke, hoping to make it three wins in a row at Bournemouth, had an early chance but was denied by Huijsen. Bournemouth then went ahead when Huijsen, unmarked at the back post, headed in from a corner. They continued to push for a second, with Marcus Tavernier forcing a save from Spurs’ goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

After the break, Bournemouth had another chance when Justin Kluivert shot straight at Forster. Spurs tried to respond, with captain Son Heung-min coming on and scoring from a rebound, but his goal was ruled offside. Tottenham continued to press but struggled to break through, with James Maddison and Pedro Porro both missing chances.

Bournemouth nearly added a second when Spurs gave the ball away in their defensive third, but Evanilson’s close-range strike was ruled offside. Despite missing several opportunities, Bournemouth held firm, and Spurs offered little in the final stages.

The win lifts Bournemouth to ninth in the Premier League, just one point behind the European spots, while Tottenham drops below them in the table.
