Chelsea Sets Price for Lukaku's Transfer to Roma

Chelsea FC has reportedly reached an agreement regarding the transfer fee for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Roma. Lukaku’s second stint at Chelsea, for which he was signed for a hefty 112 million euros, has been underwhelming, leading to his loan spells at Inter Milan and now Roma.

Despite efforts to offload the 30-year-old striker this summer, including a potential swap deal involving Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, Lukaku found a temporary home in Rome. Renowned journalist Daniele Longo reports that Chelsea has agreed to a transfer sum of 38 million euros for Lukaku.

This price will come into play next summer when Lukaku’s loan agreement with Roma, which currently doesn’t include a buy option, expires. Roma, understanding the financial requirement to secure Lukaku permanently, seems inclined towards this action, given his performance and influence at the club.

Lukaku has made a significant impact at Roma, scoring nine goals in 14 appearances across Serie A and the Europa League. He has also become a key figure in the dressing room and adapted well to life in Rome, enhancing coach José Mourinho’s attacking options.

Roma’s sporting director, Tiago Pinto, is reportedly exploring all possibilities to retain Lukaku, who may also attract interest from other clubs. Lukaku’s future, especially regarding a permanent move to Roma, is expected to be a major talking point in the upcoming summer transfer market.
