The leaders of the Bayern Munich football club have announced that they want to keep Thomas Muller in their ranks.
He made his jubilee, 300th appearance for the Bundesliga club last weekend, but his team was disappointed on Tuesday by being eliminated from the Champions League.
The contract with Muller, as well as Polish players Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer, expires in the summer of 2023.
“We are in negotiations with Thomas Muller. So far, the talks are very positive. “If there is something to be announced, we will do it soon,” said sports director Oliver Kahn.
Herbert Heiner said that Muller is a “symbol of the team”.
I am sincerely convinced that Muller belongs to Bayern, just as the Frauenkirche belongs to Munich. “I am convinced that he will end his career in the Bayern jersey,” said Heiner.
He scored 226 goals in 622 games in all competitions.
