Barcelona Vice President, Rafa Yuste, recently spoke at a press conference regarding the potential return of Lionel Messi to Camp Nou. “Leo and his family know the affection I have for them. I participated in the negotiations, which unfortunately did not end successfully. I am haunted by the fact that Leo could not continue his career at our club,” he said.
Yuste emphasized the significance of Messi’s legacy and his impact on the club in the sporting, social, and economic fields. “When we mention La Masia and the football school, we talk about Messi. Of course, I would like him to come back,” he added.
Yuste revealed that they are in contact with Messi and that the door is open for him to return to the Catalan club. However, he stressed that it is necessary for Barcelona to fix their finances before they can consider re-engaging their living legend. “We have two months left in which we have a lot of work to do. We have to present our feasibility plan to the first man of the league, Javier Tebas,” he said.
The president of the Catalan club has already held talks with Messi’s father and representative Jorge, but Yuste emphasized that they do not have a plan of attack yet. “If it happens, it will happen because fate decided that way,” he concluded.
It remains to be seen whether Messi will return to Barcelona, but it is clear that the club is eager to bring him back and continue his legacy at Camp Nou. Stay tuned for further updates.
