Football club Barcelona has launched an internal investigation into how 30,000 German fans got tickets for the Europa League match.
The club provided only 5,000 tickets for Eintracht fans, but a much larger number of fans showed up at the stadium.
The club is of the opinion that there are three ways this omission could have happened.
The first way is for tour operators who tried to fill the stadium with as many fans as possible.
It was striking that large groups of German fans were visible under the fenced part of the stands, which was set aside for those 5,000 Eintracht supporters with secured tickets.
Another way is the omission in the club itself, which is responsible for ticket sales.
And the last way is the partners of Barcelona who could have made a mistake and that the Germans came to a large contingent of tickets through them.
“We had 34,400 tickets for sale, with restrictions that they cannot be bought with German credit cards or from a German IP address, these are restrictions that have been in force for six years. However, those who bought them passed them on to the Germans, which is evident. “Those who know me well know how responsible I am, and that is why I am looking for a solution so that this would never happen again,” said Barcelona President Joan Laporta.
