The Competition Commission of the Spanish Football Federation today rejected the appeal of the Elche football club, which requested that the match with Barcelona be registered as an official result, due to the questionable playing of Gavi for the Catalan team.
Elche and Barcelona met on April 1 in the match of the 27th round of the Spanish Primera, and the victory was recorded by the Barcelona team with a score of 4:0.
Gavi (18) was registered as a temporary member of Barcelona’s first team at the end of January, after the court there allowed the precautionary measure, which was then lifted on March 13.
The court decision allowed Gavi to keep his license to perform in the younger categories, and the appeal commission states that “his license was never revoked”, as Elche referred to, Spanish media reported.
Barcelona is in first place in the Primera table with 73 points with nine games to go. Barcelona will play the next match at home against Atletico Madrid.
