Aston Villa won't be active in the transfer tarket: Emery announces departures but not additions

Aston Villa is having a dream season. The Birmingham-based team currently sits in second place in the Premier League, just three points behind Liverpool. According to the coach, there won’t be any new signings in January to continue the title race.

While many European clubs are active in the winter transfer market, Aston Villa remains on the sidelines. Unai Emery has successfully molded a team that is performing exceptionally well and competes for the English Premier League title. It seems the coach is content with the squad at his disposal, publicly stating that there won’t be any new players in the second half of the season.

“One or two players will leave us. We are still considering options; nothing is certain yet. And if we try to bring someone in, it’s because we are very confident that they will raise the level of our team. The question is whether it will happen in January,” said the Villa coach. According to British media, Lazio’s winger Felipe Anderson is on the wish list, but nothing has been done to secure the transfer. It’s worth noting that Anderson has previously played in the Premier League while representing West Ham.
