Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said that football is losing a great player after Paul Pogba tested positive for the second time in a doping test.
Pogba is facing a four-year suspension, as the analysis of the B sample showed that he was positive for testosterone.
“From a human point of view, it bothers me a lot, because I am close to him. Football is losing an extraordinary player who is different from the rest.” said Allegri after the triumph in the city derby over Torino.
Pogba has to cite the use of nutritional supplements prescribed by an American doctor to explain the presence of testosterone metabolites.
“Let’s wait for the punishments, this makes us all sad. We hope for the best for him, since it is not easy for him mentally.” Allegri stated.
Juventus stopped paying him the salary stipulated in the contract that expires in 2026. The Turin club will pay him the minimum wage stipulated in the collective agreement for Italian professional footballers, which amounts to 42,500 euros per year.
