The famous Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor has finished his football career. The tall African confirmed it through his Instagram profile.
“My career has been an incredible journey. Thanks to the fans who were there every step of the way. I am grateful for everything and excited for what is yet to come,” Adebayor wrote.
He finished his career in Africa, i.e., his homeland; he played for Semasi, and his football journey began in the French league with Metz, established himself in the Monaco jersey, and “exploded” at Arsenal! The 191-centimeter-tall forward played for Manchester City, Real Madrid, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Basaksehir, Kayserispor, and even the Paraguayan Olympia.
The best season of his career was 2007-08, when he scored 24 Premier League goals in the Arsenal jersey! That year, Adebayor also scored the goal of the season in the BBC selection!
In 2004, he played with Monaco in the final of the Champions League, in which Porto rejoiced, while in 2011, he won the Copa del Rey in the jersey of Real Madrid.
He played 85 matches for Togo and scored 32 goals, and in 2008 he was named the best footballer in Africa, and in the same year he was included in the ideal team of the Premier League.
