Leeds United reclaimed top spot in the Sky Bet Championship with a 2-0 victory over Millwall at Elland Road, courtesy of an early own goal from Jake Cooper and a stunning late strike from Ao Tanaka.
After suffering a 1-0 defeat at Portsmouth on Sunday, which ended their 17-game unbeaten run, Daniel Farke’s side needed a response. They were temporarily knocked off the summit by Sheffield United on Tuesday but ensured a swift return to the top with a dominant performance.

Leeds took the lead just 10 minutes in when Millwall captain Jake Cooper inadvertently turned the ball into his own net under pressure from the home attack. The hosts continued to create chances throughout the game but failed to extend their lead, with several opportunities going begging.
However, any nerves were put to rest in the closing stages when Japanese midfielder Ao Tanaka unleashed a powerful strike to double the advantage, securing all three points for Leeds.

With the win, Leeds move back above Sheffield United, reaffirming their promotion push as they enter the crucial final stretch of the season.
