Leeds United will increase the seating capacity of their Elland Road stadium to 53,000, the Championship team announced on Monday. The club has revealed a plan to upgrade the facility, which currently holds 37,645 spectators. This enhancement will make it the seventh largest club stadium in England.

“Our plans demonstrate our dedication to the club’s long-term success, and I am thrilled that we will be able to welcome thousands more fans to each match,” stated Paraag Marathe, Chairman of Leeds and President of 49ers Enterprises.
Elland Road, in its existing state, has been sold out for every game over the past six years, with a waiting list of 26,000 supporters for season tickets, according to the second-tier Leeds outfit.
