Andrés Iniesta’s company has taken over the Israel–Premier Tech cycling team, saving it from shutting down after it lost its sponsors. The team will now compete as NSN Cycling Team from 2026. Although it is officially registered in Switzerland, it will be based and run in Spain. The riders will wear “Never Say Never” on their jerseys.
The former team faced huge pressure and protests because it represented Israel during the war in Gaza. Several races removed the team from their start lists, and the situation reached a crisis point during the Vuelta a España, where protests caused major disruption. Premier Tech then withdrew its support, leaving the team’s future uncertain.
The new investment from NSN and Swiss group Stoneweg allows the team to stay in the WorldTour. Rising star Biniam Girmay is expected to lead the team next season. The squad will meet for a training camp next week, where they will reveal their new kit and race programme.
Some riders will stay, including Alexey Lutsenko, but Chris Froome will leave at the end of the year when his contract expires. The four-time Tour de France winner has not raced since a serious training crash in August, which left him with major injuries. Froome has said he is considering retirement and hopes to set up a cycling school in Africa when he stops racing.
The team thanked all departing riders and staff, saying they looked forward to seeing them continue their careers elsewhere.
