Match day 5 of the 2024 Nations Cup in Bridlington was a highly satisfying one as all the Maltese teams participating in this competition have progressed to the knock-out phase.
The men’s A team had two good wins 16-9 against Catalonia and 18-7 against Shetland although they were unlucky to lose the game against England A 13-12. In this last game, the Maltese were losing 12-7 and made a comeback to equalize and it was only in the decider that the Maltese succumbed to a defeat.
Even the B team had two positive results against Scotland B1 14-7 and against Ireland B 13-8 although they lost 11-10 against Wales B1.
On the other hand, the senior team beat Ireland 14-11 while in the evening game they lost with the same score against Scotland
Finally the Masters had a win and a loss in the two matches they played when they beat South Africa 17-8 while they lost by the same score against Scotland.
