Dejan Grech stayed in the running to defend his title as Champion of Malta tournament after defeating Miguel Mizzi 8-4 in the quarter-finals. Grech took an early 3-0 lead, but Mizzi managed to tie the score at one point and even pull ahead 4-3. However, Grech persevered and won frame after frame until securing an 8-4 victory.
The reigning 2022 champion Clayton Castaldi was eliminated from the competition with an 8-4 loss against Leon Azzopardi. Azzopardi dominated the match from the start and maintained a lead, even when Castaldi briefly took the lead at 4-3. Azzopardi’s determination paid off as he secured an 8-4 win and a spot in the semi-finals.

Mevrick Zammit also advanced to the semi-finals with an 8-4 victory over Ryan Pisani. While Zammit was in control for most of the match, Pisani never gave up and fought until the end. In the end, however, Zammit’s strong form proved too much for Pisani.
Johan Attard completed the semi-finalists with an impressive 8-2 win over Lydan Debono. Attard started strong with a 5-0 lead, and although Debono closed the gap, Attard maintained his consistency to secure an 8-2 victory.
The highly anticipated semi-final matches will take place tonight, with Leon Azzopardi facing Mevrick Zammit and Johan Attard playing against Dejan Grech. Both matches will be held at the Fuego Speakeasy Arena in Birkirkara and will kick off at 7.00pm.
