After the promotional tour to Warsaw, Budapest, Palermo, Athens and Florence on the occasion of the most important road races in Europe as well as other promotional activities, the organisers of the LifeStar Malta Marathon on Thursday, 12th December, at 11:30am will present to the press at the Barcelò Hotel Fortina in Sliema, all the novelties of the 2025 edition.
The race, in which over 1,500 foreign athletes travelling to Malta from more than 60 countries from around the world have already registered for the 2025 LifeStar Malta Marathon, which is scheduled for Sunday 23 February. In addition to the Marathon and Half Marathon, as in previous years there will also be a Walkathon, a non-competitive event with a recreational-motor purpose, also over the distance of 21.0975 km.
“We are receiving many registrations from athletes from all over the world every day,” said race director Joe Micallef. “There is great interest in the event, which will celebrate its 40th edition and is preparing to experience one of the most important sporting moments in its history with a record number of participants.
Joe Micallef added “that this time last year we only had 800 registered foreign athletes that were travelling to Malta for the 2024 LifeStar Malta Marathon. When considering that for the 2024 LifeStar Malta Marathon with had a total of 1,930 registered foreign athletes that were travelling to Malta, the number for 2025 should be well over 3,000. These together with their companions are all tourists that contribute to Malta’s economy in the leanest touristic months of the year”.
