Ryan Bugeja emerged as the ultimate victor in the inaugural MSSF Trap Competition 50+50+25 (T1). The young competitor achieved the MSSF’s minimum qualifying score (MQS) by scoring 118 out of 125 and impressively hitting 2 perfect rounds in his last 2 attempts. James Galea Jr and Christopher Vella also secured positions on the podium, finishing in second and third place respectively.
The Malta Shooting Sport Federation has scheduled 4 additional Trap events this year, where the top 6 athletes of each day will compete with a maximum of 125 targets, with possible shoot-offs. The competition begins with all participants shooting at 50 targets, and the top 12 athletes advance to the next round for another 50 targets. The remaining shooters will be eliminated.
After 100 targets, the 6 competitors with the lowest scores will be eliminated, leaving the top 6 athletes to compete in the final round with 25 targets.
