Novak Djokovic is set to participate in Indian Wells, the ATP 1000-level tournament announced via social media, as the Serbian player overcomes injury issues and continues his pursuit of a 100th singles title.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion had withdrawn from his Australian Open semi-final against Alexander Zverev due to a hamstring problem last month and suffered an early exit at the Qatar Open last week. Despite being 37 years old, Djokovic mentioned that he “played without pain” in Doha, but his lacklustre performance left fans worried about his participation in the Southern California event. The tournament’s social media post on Saturday stating, “A legend returns to the desert,” has alleviated doubts regarding his involvement.

Djokovic, a five-time Indian Wells champion, aims to join the ranks of Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103) as one of the few men to win 100 singles titles in the professional era.
