Novak Djokovic: It's not easy to play in front of an audience that interferes between serves, that's why the victory is even sweeter

The best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, triumphantly ended another season. He won the Final Masters Tournament in Turin, defeating Jannik Sinner 2:0 in the final.

The Italian was better in the tournament’s group stage, but the Serbian ace dominated when it mattered most, in the final.

“A very special moment for me. Without a doubt, it was one of the best seasons I’ve had in my career. The crowning achievement was the victory against the local hero – Jannik, who played exceptional tennis all week. I am very proud. In the last two days, I played against two of the best players in the world, Alcaraz and Sinner, in addition to me and me and Medvedev. I had to step up, to win matches, not wait for them to give me the victory. Tactically, I played differently today than in the group against Jannik. All in all, a phenomenal week”, Djokovic said after the final match.

Novak also had the support of his children in Turin, which means a lot to him.

“They are so good. They had been watching tennis for the last few days. I’m thrilled, I’ve always wanted to play in front of them. Now they have reached the age where they are aware of what is happening and I am grateful to be the father of two wonderful angels, who give me so much love in my life. They give me strength”, said the Serbian tennis player.

In a statement in Serbian, Djokovic touched upon the clash with Siner in more detail.

“I played a fantastic match. Tactically, I played differently today than in the group against Jannik. I had the edge from the start and served great. I had a chance for a double break, but things got a little complicated after that. I kept my composure, it’s not easy to play in front of a crowd that is very loud and interfered between serves, but this victory is all the sweeter. All in all, a phenomenal week”, concluded the seven-time winner of the Final Masters Tournament.
