Sassuolo have officially secured their return to Serie A after just one season in Italy’s second tier, following a 2-2 draw between Spezia and Mantova on Sunday. The result means third-placed Spezia can no longer catch the league leaders, guaranteeing Fabio Grosso’s side a top-two finish and automatic promotion.

Sassuolo, currently sitting on 75 points with five matches remaining, extended their lead at the top of the Serie B table with a 3-1 victory over Modena on Saturday. Pisa are second with 66 points, while Spezia trail in third on 59—mathematically unable to overtake the Neroverdi.

The promotion marks a swift return to the top flight for Sassuolo, who were relegated from Serie A at the end of the 2023–24 season. Under Grosso’s guidance, the club has rebuilt quickly and shown consistent dominance throughout the campaign.
Sassuolo fans can now look ahead to the 2025–26 Serie A season with optimism, as the club prepares to re-establish itself among Italy’s elite.
